What do Reimbursement Statuses mean? (Pending, Active, Processed, and More)
There are two different statuses you'll see in StretchDollar:
- Your Auto-Reimbursement setup (your recurring enrollment)
- Your monthly payment (each individual reimbursement)
These are different, and it's normal for them to show different statuses at the same time.
Your Auto-Reimbursement setup status
This tells you whether your recurring Auto-Reimbursement is active.
| Status | What it means |
| Pending Review | You've submitted your Auto-Reimbursement and it's waiting for your employer admin to approve it. Monthly payments won't begin until it's approved. |
| Active | Your admin approved your reimbursement. Monthly payments will now run automatically. Funds are pulled from your employer's account on the 25th and deposited to you around the 1st of the month. See Why Your Auto-Reimbursement Timing Matters: The 25th Rule. |
| Rejected | Your employer declined your request. Check the Notes section in your portal for more information. |
| Paused | Your recurring Auto-Reimbursement has been temporarily paused. |
| Canceled | Your Auto-Reimbursement has ended. This can happen if your employment ends, your eligibility changes, or a new Auto-Reimbursement replaces the current one. |
| Expired | Your Auto-Reimbursement has reached its end date or is no longer valid for the current plan year. |
Admins see these same statuses in their view too — Active is the label used there as well.
Each month's payment status
Once your setup is Active, StretchDollar creates a new reimbursement each month. Each month's payment has its own status.
- Pending: this month's payment has been created and is queued to run — it hasn't gone out yet. This is completely normal right up until the payment date.
- Processed: this month's payment has gone out.
If a payment doesn't arrive within a few business days of when it should, see My Auto-Reimbursement Payment Didn't Arrive.
One-time reimbursements don't have a separate "setup" status — since there's no recurring enrollment involved, they go straight to a payment status (Pending → Processed, or declined).
