What is the health insurance marketplace?

The Health Insurance Marketplace, which was created under the Affordable Care Act, is a platform that helps folks find and purchase health insurance. It's also known by other names like health insurance exchange, federal exchange, healthcare.gov or state-based exchange.

The health plans available on the state and federal marketplaces have to play by the rules - we call it "ACA compliant." These plans have got you covered with comprehensive benefits, including preventive care. Plus, here's the good news: insurers can't deny you coverage or charge extra because of pre-existing conditions when you shop on the exchange.

Oh, and the best news is... all ACA-compliant plans qualify for StretchDollar's pre-tax fixed health benefit.
