StretchDollar pricing is changing on January 1, 2027
What’s changing
Starting January 1, 2027, StretchDollar moves to a single, standard price for all directly billed employer accounts:
| Monthly platform fee | $100 / month |
| Per enrolled employee | $25 / month, for each employee enrolled in a plan through StretchDollar |
This replaces every pricing arrangement we have in place today — including the $40 platform fee + $8 per-employee rate, and accounts that have not been charged a platform fee up to now.
You are not being moved to a new plan or a new product. Your benefit, your employees’ coverage, and your reimbursement setup all continue exactly as they are. Only the amount you are billed changes.
Why we are making this change
When StretchDollar launched, our pricing was set to get ICHRA into the hands of small employers who had never been able to offer health benefits at all. Since then the platform has grown well past what it did at launch: enrollment support for your employees, reimbursement handling, compliance documentation, plan-year renewals, and a support team that works directly with your admins and your people.
The new price reflects what the platform does today and lets us keep investing in it. It also brings every employer account onto the same terms, which means one published price, one renewal conversation, and no more one-off arrangements that are hard to explain and harder to plan around.
Who this applies to
This applies to every employer account billed directly by StretchDollar, regardless of what you are paying today.
If your StretchDollar benefit is administered through a broker, agency, or partner organization rather than billed to you directly by us, your pricing is set through that relationship. Contact your broker or account contact with pricing questions.
When it takes effect
| Date | What happens |
| September 2026 | We reach out at your renewal touchpoint to walk through the change and confirm your plans for 2027 |
| Now – December 31, 2026 | Your current pricing continues unchanged. Nothing on your invoice changes |
| January 1, 2027 | New pricing takes effect |
| Your first billing date on or after January 1, 2027 | Your first invoice at the new rate |
Your billing date does not change. If you are billed on the 12th of the month today, you will still be billed on the 12th. The amount is what is different.
What you will pay
Your monthly total is the $100 platform fee plus $25 for each employee enrolled in a plan through StretchDollar that month.
| Employees enrolled | Platform fee | Per-employee | Monthly total |
| 1 | $100 | $25 | $125 |
| 3 | $100 | $75 | $175 |
| 5 | $100 | $125 | $225 |
| 10 | $100 | $250 | $350 |
You are only billed for employees actually enrolled. Employees you have invited who have not enrolled, and employees who waive coverage, are not counted.
This fee is separate from the reimbursement dollars you set for your employees. Your reimbursement budget is yours — you decide the amount, and it does not change because of this update.
Paying for your account
Starting January 1, 2027, the platform fee and per-employee fee are paid by credit or debit card. Bank account (ACH) is not available as a payment method for these charges.
Bank account details you have on file for funding employee reimbursements are unaffected. That is a separate flow and continues to work the way it does today.
Before January 1, 2027, make sure a valid card is on file so your account is not interrupted at the start of the plan year. You can add or update your card from Settings → Billing in the StretchDollar admin portal.
Your options at renewal
We would rather have this conversation early than surprise you in January. When we reach out in September, we will ask which of these is closest to your plan:
1. Continue with StretchDollar at the new rate. Nothing for you to do beyond confirming a card is on file.
2. Keep your total benefits spend flat. If your budget for 2027 is fixed, we can walk through how to absorb the platform cost by adjusting your reimbursement allowances so your all-in monthly spend stays where it is. Your admin contact can model this with you before you commit.
3. Cancel before the new pricing takes effect. If StretchDollar is not the right fit for 2027, tell us early. We will help you plan the timing around your employees’ coverage so nobody has a gap, and we will make sure enrollment and offboarding paperwork is handled correctly.
There is no penalty for any of these, and “we are not sure yet” is a perfectly good answer in September. The one thing we would ask is that you do not wait until December. Coverage decisions for January 1 have deadlines that sit outside our control.
Frequently asked questions
Am I locked into a contract?
No. StretchDollar is month to month. The new pricing applies from January 1, 2027, and you can cancel before then.
I was told my account would not be charged a platform fee. Does that still hold?
Through December 31, 2026, yes — nothing changes for the rest of this year. From January 1, 2027, all directly billed accounts move to the standard $100 + $25 pricing.
Does this change my employees’ costs?
No. Employees do not pay StretchDollar anything. Their premium, and any amount above your reimbursement, is between them and their insurance carrier, exactly as it works today.
Does it change my reimbursement amounts?
No. You set those, and they are unchanged by this update. If you would like to revisit them for 2027, we can help you model it.
What if my headcount changes mid-month?
You are billed for employees enrolled during that billing period. If someone enrolls or terminates, the change is reflected on the following invoice.
Is this tied to my plan year or the calendar year?
Calendar year. The new pricing starts January 1, 2027 regardless of when your plan year began.
Can I pay annually instead of monthly?
Not today. Billing is monthly.
